The Promise of Life in Excess
The Promise of Life in Excess
Psalms 91:15-16
”When he calls to me, I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble;I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Everyone today is searching for the promise of a life, in excess even, they desire the promise of a long life. There have always been and will always be people who are trying to eek out an additional one, or five, or ten years. I recently read that billionaires are researching ways to live forever.
There are so many things that can cut a person’s life short. Drugs, alcohol, disease, bad choices, and bad happenings can cause a person’s life to end shorter than it should.
But there is a promise for those who put God first, and that promise has something extra for you.
Not only does God promise you a LONG LIFE, but a life that will be satisfied!
The word satisifed means to have one’s fill; or to have in excess.
That which the rich and powerful are searching for is the easiest thing to find, but it takes giving your life to Jesus… in order to have a life of Him in excess.
Confession: “My life is filled to excess with the Life of God and because I’m made God my hope, I receive the promise of of long, satisfied life!”
Make That Call – He Will Answer
Make That Call
Psalms 91:14-15
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble;I will rescue him and honor him.”
Who do you think of when you need to make that call to have help come?
Everyone today has a cell phone and the ability to call someone. It’s strange to think that when I was growing up we didn’t have this great ability of cell phones, and instant communication.
If your car broke down, you walked to the closest house, and asked if they would let you use their phone. As you walked you had to make a decision, and that was who you would call. You didn’t want to make a nuisance of yourself, and you needed to call the most dependable person who could help you in that situation.
When you know someone intimately, you know that they will answer and come, without any hesitation. God is always willing to come and deliver you when you call… He will answer!
Make That Call! In fact, make it daily!
Confession: “I know the name of the Lord, and Jesus always hears my prayers and answers – coming with deliverance to me!”
Hold On For Dear Life
Hold On For Dear Life
Psalms 91:14 (Message)
“If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God, “I’ll get you out of any trouble. I’ll give you the best of care if you’ll only get to know and trust me.”
When I was a boy my family had a friend who said he didn’t believe in God. While he loved my Dad, and respected his strong faith, it was a subject that was off limits to discuss with him. In his words, “I don’t talk about that I don’t believe in.” He would only hold on for dear life, when it was life and death.
One day he was at our house and had some type of attack of pain and fell to his knees. The first words out of his mouth were, “Oh God. Oh God. Help me.” He only wanted to hold onto God when he needed Him, and not at other times.
Don’t live like that! Hold onto God for dear life, as if your life eternally and here on this earth depends on it… because it does! When we do that we have the promise that He will get us out of ANY TROUBLE and He will give us the best of care. What’s the condition?
Get to know and trust Him! Everyday, every month, every year for every second! Then you have faith that you are in His best care!
Confession: “I hold onto God for all of my life, and because of Him I receive the best and He can deliver me from any trouble.”
