It was a statement of one generation, and the longing desire for all of humanity.
People scream for ‘world peace’, or ‘economic peace’, and even ‘community peace’.
Peace only comes to a community, or an economy, or even the world when people make it their desire and plan to be at peace within themselves.
Nothing at all starts anywhere else, but with an individual, and that’s you and me.
Philippians 4:8-9 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
That doesn’t start with someone else, but with you!
You think on these things!
Start there first! Thoughts.
And those thoughts are based on the lovely, commendable, excellent, praise worthy… THINK on those things! When you begin there, your perspective is altered and changed and peace comes to you.
Then in verse 9 it says that what you have learned and received and heard and seen in Paul… to PRACTICE!
Then the God of peace will be with you. Not before that… After you have done your part peace comes.
Do you want peace?
Don’t protest and scream for peace to come to others… until you have put to practice the prescription of peace!
